HISTORY
Tenebo Boxers was first the dream of John & Sheila Gray of Hollis New Hampshire, "Tenebo" being Latin for " I Will Hold" from the Gray family coat of arms.
John was animated about doubling up on the lovely New England Boxer style popular at that time and enlisted the help of young friend Kathy Baldasaro in the stewardship of the very first Tenebo litter whelped in 1980 out of Flying Apache Copper X Flying Apache Evening Star.
Five puppies were produded from this pairing. While Kathy focused on raising her pick puppy, "Pooh"/Tenebo's Little One, John focused on finding suitable show placements for the remaining flashy puppies.
It was next that sadley a tradgedy hit the Gray family...John developed a cancer that ended in his passing. Shelia and young John then moved back to Scotland, and Kathy promised John Sr. before he passed that she would continue to carry on his lovely Tenebo bloodlines...and continue she did!
While Kathy continued to produce some very fine puppies throughout the 1980's, she did not show Boxers again until 1990. "Ayla", a daughter of Pooh turned out to be a very consistent producer and so became the foundation for all the Tenebo bloodlines shown throughout the 1990's and into today. Ayla's pedigree and progenators can be seen and clicked on below. Enjoy.
