How do I get on your waiting list?
Start by reading the FAQ page below. The FAQ outlines information to basic questions that puppy seekers have put forward when asking us about our Boxer kids. Next, fill out the questionnaire form section and submit.
If I see a puppy or litter that draws my interest, can I place a deposit so I have first selection?
We never take deposits on puppies before they are born. So much can happen during the breeding, whelping, and first serveral weeks of life; we do not know how many puppies we will have, nor do we know their dispositions and suitability. We sometimes do take deposits once the puppies are old enough to show their personalities thereby letting us know if they are more suitable for pet homes or if we will hold them for show homes. Puppy evaluations are made usually never befor the six week age mark; we then work to match the correct dispostion with the family or companion home that best mirrors their needs. At that time, a non refundable deposit will hold a particular puppy.
Can I request uncropped ears or an undocked tail?
Tails are docked and front dewclaws removed on ALL puppies by the attending Veterinarian at the age of 3 days old. Ear Crops are quite an expensive surgey, done at 10-12 weeks on age, and only on those puppies designated for show homes. Our pet puppies will always have uncropped ears.
Can I choose my puppy myself?
Puppies are evaluated at the 6-8 week mark. At that time we decide which puppies will be available for pet homes, and which will be available for show homes. We place a lot of consideration on the temperment of the puppies to determine which type of home would best suit each one; For example, a very active home with kids might be better for a bolder, more energetic Boxer puppy, whereas a home with less activity might be the best match for a milder, less boisterous puppy. If we have more than one puppy that may suit your home, generally, you can pick from them; however, we resserve the right to make the final decision based on what is best for the puppy.
Please Note*
While we understand many people have preferences on color, we do not match puppies to families on this basis. While we ask what color you prefer on the application, please be aware that it may take much longer to match one of our puppies with you. Please indicate on the Questionnaire if you are open to other color choices.
What have puppies been taught before they go to their new homes?
Our puppies are exposed to training from the moment they are born. Often it starts with limited bottle feeding if the litter is large and a soothing sound machine; we then graduate to more varied sounds, lights and senstations once thier eyes and ears open at 10-14 weeks old. At that time, they are exposed to more household sounds, i.e., vacuum cleaner, TV, children, barking dogs, etc. As they approach 3 weeks of age, we expand their puppy area and begin adding puzzles and textured hanging toys to the nursery to keep their active minds developing; at 4-5 weeks, we begin to bring the puppies and mom outside to enjoy sunlight, new sounds & scents for shorter intervals, which are gradualy increased as the days progress. We do not litter train, but we do reduce the sized of their potty areas as the grown, and start limited crate training between 6-8 weeks of age. We keep to the rule of sevens: "By seven weeks, a puppy will have experienced at least seven different surfaces, locations, surfaces and types of toys". Puppies are introduced to our other dogs and children as the mother permits.By introfucing them to a wide array of sounds, sights and stimulation, your vaccinated puppy will be ready to venture out into the world as a happy, healthy, well-adjusted member of your family!
Do you only have show quality puppies?
No.While we strive always to produce Boxers that are as close to the AKC Standard as possible, every litter will have "pet" quality puppies; this does not mean that they are inferior in any way. Many of our "pet" puppies could do very well in the show, but since we have to be very selective about which are shown we only make a limited number of puppies available for show.
What is your "health guarantee"?
We test all of our breeding stock prior to moving forward with a litter. We want to make sure that your puppy has a long and healthy life, and provides years of love, enjoyment and happiness for your human family. Unfortunately, for unforeseen circumstances, it is possible for a puppy born from health tested parents to have a health issue. For this, we offer a lifetime guarentee for anything congenital that would impose a significant impact to a dog's natural lifespan,i.e., a defective internal organ that a puppy was born with would be covered. In this instance, you muct provide us with you Veterinarian records to confirm diagnosis* For these instances, the puppy can be returned to us for reimbursement, or should you decide to keep the puppy, we can give you another at no cost at a from a future litter, whichever is preferred. * We cannot guarentee puppies that develop possible gentically linked conditions, or health issues that arise from poor animal husbandry.
I would like to breed my pet puppy just once before they are fixed. Is that okay?
No. We do not allow our pet quality puppies to be bred. There is no health benefit to breeding a dog before they are fixed. Breeding should be done only to improve the breed, and after health testing has been completed. If you are interested in breeding, let us know and we will be happy to talk with you about showing dogs and the steps that need to be taken to become an ethical, reputable dog breeder.
How much do your puppies cost?
This depends on the puppy but typically are pet home puppies range from $3,000-$3,500 with some puppies going lower or higher. For previous Pet owners of our Boxers, we go lower than this. For a show dog being raised in a Pet Home, we go lower as well, but with avery specific contract to be able to access the dog for competitions. Much fluctuates depending on the circumstances.
I see you have an option for, "Show dog in a pet home" What is that?
Sometimes we have a puppy that is exceptional and we would like to keep him or her in our program but we do not have the dog space. In this scenario we will place the puppy an approved pet home at a deeply reduced rate. The new family will allow this puppy to be shown and later bred at our expense; this is not for everyone. However, if you are interested in possibly showing in the future but can not afford the financial or time commitment, or are interested in one of our show puppies, but not interested in taking on showing yourself, this may be an option for you. You must live in the Pacific Northwest for this option to be viable.
I am interested in showing but have done it before. Will you help me?
YES! We are very happy to introduce, guide and encourage new people when it comes to the steps involved showing AKC dogs!
